Masks are pretty much useless, at least what you see around town are. Serious masks that were designed to thwart virus might work. I have not worn one at all, and refuse to do so. I’d love to hear about the effectiveness of a “serious” mask. When I was working, before I retired, I wore one or the other, like pictured below. I collected evidence at meth labs as a detective for the DA's office. In Colorado you wear one inside public places or crowds outside.. That is because this gay POS governor decreed it and there is now a fine if caught. So we wear one. I have been wearing one frequently due to the heavy smoke from all the Colorado fires.I have been wearing one for years when in the barn because all the hay dust and I have bad lungs.
I wore one like Dave Kieth posted above working underground after a nuclear bomb was set off and we recovered experiments.Wish I would have worn a mask breathing all the asbestos, silica ,lead carbon dust and diesel fumes

The mandates are ridiculous. Wear one if you want, or not, I really don’t care, our government does not have the authority to force us to wear one, but we have allowed them to do it.
I still travel, you are not flying without one. I had a great trip to Alaska a couple of weeks back, the penalty for going was wearing a mask on the plane and in the airport. Hell of a lot better than sitting home.
Far worse than the mask is the government shutting down private businesses. That is hurting a lot of people still.

Every time you walk into a store without a mask, someone sees you and pulls their mask off. Then they don't wear one in next time, and someone else pulls theirs off.
