Bought the house next to me my only neighbor. Him and her are go getters. They are the same age as my kids mid 30’s. She ignores everthing lol. Been 3 months ha. Ive talked to him twice for a minute, she stares at the concrete if I’m out and about. They got 3 kids 2 hers one themself married. I been told they are great peeps from what i see they work really hard trying to do it right, trying to raise a family today. I mowed his grass the first time after asking him he had a dead push mower at the time now his real mower is there a nice zero turn.

Ive lived next to boomers for 24 yrs here. This guy gets it and his wife, they are doing it right all is not lost.

It's a great thing to have neighbors you like. I've been fortunate.

Got some new millennials next door, they are as ignorant as the work day is long

WTF does previously living next to Boomers have to fugking do with anything, dumbschit?

You instantly proved yourself to be a fugking moron.

At least you're a semi-generous one.

The new neighbors across the road are from Baltimore- - - - -a 60-something couple who bought 120 acres of Tennessee farmland and have absolutely no idea what to do with it! Nice enough people, I guess, but they're as confused as a blind lesbian in a fish market!

Congratulations on your new neighbors.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear of Baltimorons moving.

Someplace, not here!

I've proposed putting a time/proximity bomb in their cars when they
cross the MD line on I-70. After 12 hours they blow up if still in this county.

Our neighbor is about 1/2 mile away, as the crow flies. If the crow has to drive, it's a mile. Now we have a couple moving in , part time, who will be only 1/4 mile away and visible. I'm thinking I might as well sell out and move to town. We've lived in a lot of places and under different circumstances. One of our neighbors, while I was in the Army, was pretty good and we stayed in touch for quite a while. The rest? I didn't feel any need to talk to them, let alone get to know them. GD

After 10 yrs I know my neighbor ladys first name.
Shes old and I suspect when she passes her daughter will rent out the house.

If bad ones move in Ill buy another and rent my old one.

I’m in town and we’re pretty lucky. We’ve been in our house 20yrs. Guy to the S has been there a lot longer than us. In a perfect world, His dog would bark a little less, but, I travel for work and if he sees I’m gone my driveway and sidewalk will be blown out before momma has to leave for work. I reciprocate when I’m home.

Neighbors to the N are ok. She’s a truck driver in her early 60’s, works hard. She’s got 2 kids in their 40’s who live w/her off and on that are dolts. Her daughter leaves the grandson there a LOT. I hear him get Lippy w/his mom but he’s a great kid around me. “Please and Thank-You”, asks for help if his bike needs something and wants to watch/help fix it.

Our street is cut-off on both ends so only 1 block long and the whole block is a bunch of good folks. Couple guys retired from Case IH manufacturing, couple teachers, a truck driver, a nurse, software security guy, mechanic @ the “import” dealership for VW, Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche, couple who were both military now retired in their early 50’a, just a bunch of regular folks who all seem pretty nice and not particularly nosey.

There’s dogs that bark on all 4 sides of me but that’s reasonably tolerable given that everything else is hunky-dory.

Why does she stare at the concrete when your out and about ?

Had the same thought, she’s either beaten down or has social issues.

Lol.

Well you see many boomers are azzholes. They think just because they are old as dirt, everyone owes them something.

Like the boomer I have next door. Old fugg has his retarded grandson living with him (probably because he raised a worthless daughter), and is always blowing leaves into my yard.

I just let him be, I know he is a product of his worthless generation that has left this country bankrupt financially and morally. #boomer

Glad the op like his neighbors so far.

I live on a cul de sac street and have been here 30 years this month. I know by sight who lives on this street. Don't know their names, don't particularly dislike any of them but don't really want to be buddy buddy either. Every body seems to get along this way. OK by me.

Maybe he walks around outside naked?

all jokes aside, some women simply don't talk to men unless their husband is present.
Many possible reasons for this.
For some, it's just an old school (really way back) way.
For some, it's jealousy issues of husband.
For some, it's past experiences of hers from encounters with men.

Single family residences around here aren't the problem. Most people that own their homes keep to themselves. It's the rent houses that you have to watch out for.
Posted By: Teal Re: My new neighbor is nice - 07/05/22
Lived here 7 years.

Sorta talked to/know the guy behind me. He's former Navy nuke. Previous owner of my house let him keep his motorcycle in the garage till it sold. Came over day 1 to let me know he'd snag it up shortly. We wave rarely while mowing.

Met the guy across the street for the first time a few weeks ago - watching the weather come in with some NASTY storms we had.

That's it. Neighbors and as deep as I want to know them. I know people that drive by and live blocks away better.

Could be. I used to wear swim trunks and cowboy boots doing yard work. Mostly just to embarrass the kids.

It worked, 100% of the time, every time. wink

My neighbors are on meth and pills and beat the hell out of each other at least twice a month. Spin tires, sling gravel, drop a wheel off into the septic tank, random gunfire at 2:13 AM.

But they don’t bother me

Still wouldn’t trade it for a “condo” or HOA or some other fág type arrangement even some on here live in. Like can’t hang a deer in the front yard. Yeah right

Now there is a Florida family 1/4 mile down. They have a passel of strange kids from Neptune and Uranus that graze thru my mailbox and flip me off when they see me. LOL They run from my white windowless Econoline tho

We only have one neighbor who is semi-close to our house.
She's a 300 lb. ol gal who wears a muumuu everyday. She lives by herself so we keep an eye on her. Which isn't hard to do being that she weighs as much as a small whale.

If you ever get to feeling sugary out mowing your yard, I bet she has a box or two of Little Debbies in there.

She'll probably give you one of the Oatmeal Raisin Pies though.

There will be new neighbor on Thurs. Single guy that lives next door now, tells me a single woman with no kids in her 30's bought his place. Has zero concept of home ownership. He offered her the riding mower and snow blower, both for 1k. She turned it down. 3 acres to mow with a 50'x100' driveway to plow snow. She gonna regret not snapping them up.

Sucks to be you guys. I had a bad neighbor for years. Actually it was one bad one after another. But, I have a great one now, and he is much appreciated. He’s about 250 yards away, and I like that too.

Sounds like she is most likely equipped to provide services in exchange for mowing and snowplowing needs.

Take the muffler off the Econoline like I did my old F250 if you want to see running, when you kick it down a gear.

Or simply pay a service to handle it for her. No sweat, no frostbite.

Maybe not.

Maybe she likes an un-mowed yard. I tutored a gal in college, lived in town. Let the yard go. Neighbors complained, she told the authorities it was a wildflower garden.

Or, maybe she plans on getting goats and sheeps?

Sounds like 3 acres is more rural. I could care less if the neighbors mow their 3 acres, except for the fire danger. Around here it keeps most people honest.

I'm surprised at some of the comments here about neighbors. I like my neighbors and know that they will help out when needed and it's a reciprocal arrangement. My German immigrant neighbor who got here and NEVER wants to go back has taken me to coffee to meet his compadres from the Sheriff's Posse. The other neighbor has had us over for holiday meals and vice versa.

There's one set of problem neighbors next to the German fellow, and the 'hood has been working on getting them to straighten up their act. German guy and I have sat across from the Sheriff at his desk and explained some issues. Neighbor lady behind them, who also owns the house on the other side of them and has her kid and grandkids in that one, has contacted an attorney to sue the landlord if scheidt doesn't change soon. The landlord has given them notice to clean up the place, there's an extra dumpster out front getting filled, so maybe it's working.

If I lived in town, it's likely my attitude towards neighbors would change. Having them all 100+ yards away out here helps a lot
