Exactly. I've flown in the last 6 months and the lady at the counter wanted to see that the gun was EMPTY!!!. Also they prefer you have TWO locks on the box, one on each side in front, and NOT a TSA lock, at least that's what they told me the last time as well. In the last year I've flown 3 times with a gun and each time was directed to TSA and they did the sniffer check. For some reason one of the times it tested positive and they called an other inspector. He checked everything over and said ok. I NEVER put ammo in the box with the firearm. ALWAYS have your ammo in a factory box. Traveling from Boise to Atlanta to Johanesberg, ammo was in factory boxes and the boxes were in a hard plastic box. Have a safe trip.
