OP,

I searched long and hard for a load for my new-to-me 270. I went through a range of loads for the powder and bullets I had on hand. The tightest group I could obtain was just over an inch on a good day. I had a smith look at the barrel and stock. He said the barrel was in good shape but the stock was really flimsy.

I took the load with the tightest group and adjust the OCL. I used Hornady's load data along with an OCL used in the Nosler book. Mindful of the stock, I made sure the pressure point on the rifle was a little farther back (closer to the trigger guard) and found my sub MOA!!!!

Bullet: Hrnady SST 130 .277
Powder: H414
Load: 50grs
COAL: 3.320
Primer: CCI BR LR
