I have both a 6.5cm and a 308. I think the 260 will work but it's kinda on the light side. I would opt for the 308 with 165 gr bullets myself. Then again the last two elk I shot were with a 270 with 130 gr bullets. At the end of the day it's all about shot placement so which every one ur most comfortable with use it. I would think the '6.5cm' would be very effective...
