I shot a cow last fall with a .260, and it fell quicker that perhaps any elk I have ever killed. Reminds me of a 7-08 140 NBT raghorn bull kill. "The deadest elk I ever seen..." Load worked up before we had a chronograph. About 80 yards, hit broadside low in the front end, fell dead without so much as a kick. Later this load was clocked at 2200FPS and dubbed the 30-30 load.
