The lenses are the same. When the Phillipine scopes first came out I got one and compared it both optically (on a chart at night) and mechanically to the last American scope acquired. The only difference I could find was the Phillipine scope was "smoother," in everything from turning the power ring to the threads on the adjustment caps. Still have that scope and it works fine.
