I have a friend in New Hampshire who lives, to a significant degree, off the land and his primary daily carry firearm is an older version of the 883. The are good rifles, but $300 seems a bit on the high side. If you take a look at the GunBroker auctions and see what they are selling for, that should give you a ballpark idea of their value. Of course, there are regional values, where you can hardly give some firearms away in some areas, in other geographic areas there is enough demand such that the same firearm sells for a premium. I wouldn't expect that Make/Model to be hard to find.
