The frame rot. Issues with Toyota were due to a supplier as well. Dana Corp made the frames IIRC.
The Japanese built four runner never had the issue, but the North American made Tacos and Tundras did.


Far be it to split hairs here, but Toyota chose to use Dana. They bear responsibility for that decision. Kind of like the critics of Ram's front axle ball joints, which are produced by American Axle, who also happen to supply GM. Yes?

I agree with you 100%.
I'm not brand loyal. I have owned Rams, GM and Toyota. Toyota has just been light years better reliability wise for me. And everyone else also as they have a much higher resale value.
Are Toyotas perfect? No. The interiors are cheap, the ride rougher than some others, they often get worse mileage and they cost more. But the reliability can't be denied.
