For over 40 years I've had a strong attachment to the 30-06 and the 338WM. It's good I spent so many years in Alaska, because the environ, makes those calibers more practical. While there I threw in the 375 H&H, and finally the 243. I don't see me getting rid of any of these calibers even when I get to the point where I don't/can't hunt anymore. Practically speaking anyone should be able to get by with a 30-06 for hunting throughout the majority of the world (as far as what most people are going to hunt).
