It the crap really hit the fan, I would probably feel most comfortable with iron sights.

I once had to qualify at an Air Force range at Medina in San Antonio. It was either a base or service rule to use one of their weapons overseas. I am being honest about this. 10 time rifle expert is not enough. Anyways, when qualifying, I decided to turn off the optic and use my irons exclusively after doping both. It is a cake walk to shoot high score on that course of fire.

The one thing that the optic does give me is the ability to have better peripheral vision when shooting. But if I am shooting at a target that is farther then my immediate kill space, I prefer the irons. I used them so long, it is natural for me and I can shoot better.
