You're wrong and the science bares that out.
Don't believe me-- try the Vortex LRBC and input the data.
400yrds 20mph cross wind---
.308-- 18 inches of wind drift
.300wm--13 inches of wind drift
Either way thats a miss or a barely wounded elk with the shot profile that was offered.
