Made a tuff choice several months ago
Had to unload some toys to cover some bills
Had a Remington 700 , 26” barrel synthetic beaver tail stock .
Nothing done except trigger and lug lapping
That thing would often shoot in the .1’s and .2’s with right bullet and powder combo
I mean with a good batch of 100 gr SGK’s
Or pro hunters
Had a Nikon 4.5-14 SF on it for years and never had to touch it for zeroing
On the other hand I had a Remington LSS 243 that my wife had bought me several years ago for a Christmas gift that got stolen 12-13 yrs ago before I even fired it
Finally got it back about s year ago and it shot piss poor for a 243
Rebarreled it with an urban rifleman 26” barrel and what a smoker
.13”and .18” first two groups with sierra 107 gr tipped match kings
And just about anything else down the tube .5” or so
So I let the old gun go , but dam I hated it .
Had a Savage 243 110 that shot lights out too , gave that one to my ex brother in law, he had problems and sold it
Dad had a 25-06 BDL that was 3/4” or less
That LSS was the weakest shooting 1/4 bore I ever had
But ran a bore scope in it and a couple of the riflings didn’t come all the way to the throat
