DPhillips Campfire Regular Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,787 Alaska	My vote would go to one of the Ruger No.1 RSI's. It's got the tang safety, very well balanced, and chambered for 7x57 (my favorite) or 30-06 it has plenty of oompf. An additional advantage is that they are only about 36" long and weigh around 7lbs. Top it with a 1.5-5x Leupy and you are all set.
