I would absolutely load 180s to the lightest published data you can find. Should be ez to duplicate that 30-06 you wish you had.
I have found nice 150 grain loads at about 2700 fps for my 300 win. That is what I will use for our Wis deer hunting if I take it. That is what reloading is all about....flexibility!!
