When trying any new bullet, you shouldn`t deal with only one powder. Owned a 300 WM for 30+ years.

Try some H-4350, H-4831, RL17, RL22, N550, N165.

When I experimented using the 155 gr thru the 210 VLDs in my 300 WSM, the OAL differences were in increments of 10/1000ths to find the sweet spots. Berger suggests a wider incremental disparity.

For hunting loads in all 30 cal VLD bullet weights, I started with the max COAL the magazine would allow and then backed off in 10/1000th increments until I found the best sweet spots for each bullet weight using the preferred powders.

H4350 and RL17 work really well in my 300 WSM using the VLDs and may do the same for your 300 Win too.
