maestro, im with djpaintless on this, dont muzzle break it. I would say the recoil is between my dads 06 ( ruger 77) and my .264 mag (win 70), certainly should be no problem if you used to a 7mm and shoot it comfortably. that said im not recoil sensitive and find my 300 wsm pleasant to shoot and have ran 50 rounds through it in a bench session with no problem.
I also run the VXIII 4.5-14 on it and my scale says 6 lbs 11 oz with leupold DDs
