To the OP I have the 6mm, 260 and 270 plus others and I believe the 6mm (or similar .243) is a very apt response if looking for a "small' meaning not big, meaning very low recoiling yet effective, deer round out to 200+ yds. Tons of good bullets for them and the more I use other chamberings the less I see the need to.

With that said the only choice would be 6mmREM if ya reload or 243win if ya don't.smile
