Dude:
I've got a LUX and love it. The iron sights are superb.
It's not stocked for bench-rest paper punching, but as a woods-walking plinker, it's in the same category as a Marlin 39A. Stocked for irons, and steady in the hands while standing on your own two feet like a man.
But if you simply must put a scope on it, it'll work fine that way, too.
