Dude,

I'd opt for the Lux, got a couple of trainers (same as the Lux except doesn't have the walnut stock), easy to scope with a more compact scope such as the Nikon 4X rimfire, weaver either 4X or 2-7X rimfire scopes, etc. If you have to have a larger scope on it the tangent sights come off really easy (if there is interference). The Tangent sights are really fun, wasn't that much into irons until I got one of these. I think it's J&P Products (check over at rimfirecentral...CZ forum) makes a so called ghost ring replacement for the rear sight blade...a marked improvement for my older eyes...easy to install.

The American is a classic and nice rifle too, but scope only. If you can afford it get both, the 452 is being discontinued, if kept in good shape the value should rise.
