I use a 10x42 Swaro for everything except bird hunting (I carry a Zeiss compact in my shirt pocket for that). I use my binocular extensively year-round for birding, to check out things when driving out here in the sticks, and around the house to check out birds and things out in the adjacent pastures.

Once you get used to using the glass, it's no problem to use it even in thick cover. I use a binocular harness and can wear it all day without fatigue. I prefer it to my wife's 8x30 Swaro for just about any use.
