Dick Clark's show back in 62 or 63? Talked my dad into taking me and a buddy. The Ventures (anyone remember them?) were the featured band. I wanted a Mosrite guitar so bad so I could taste it. I remember the vibrations coming through the seats and I couldn't believe the thrill.
Looking back it was kinda primitive. The bands (there were several) came out, did maybe four or five numbers and then the next band came out. Everyone one of the players wore a suit and tie, I remember that much.
I remember Chicago playing here in '70. They had to give away tickets. I have seen them four or five times since. Still have that great sound and the trombonist is a hoot to watch.
Sure, I remember the Ventures, a clean, driving sound. One of my fav's when in high school.
