I'm going a slightly different direction. Since the regs now allow 1.8 inch cases, at the suggetion of R. Mann, I am going to use a 35 Rem, trimmed to 1.8 inches (factory length 1.92 inches). We are calling it the 35 Indiana. I will not have to neck up or down, fire form etc and can still use factory dies. Using XP-100 load data, I should be able to get 2200 - 2300 fps with a 200 gr bullet. Enough for IN without too much fuss.
Mark Penrod is going to build the rifle for me. We are trying to match schedules to iron out the details. But will be a Rem 700 SA, likely a Lilja #3 at 22-24 inches (1 in 12).
