That Ruger Security Six or Speed Six with a 4" barrel would be the other best choice, particularly with the service style grip on it, that would proably fit a woman's hand quite well. Good basic revolver with enough mass to hold recoil down.
Only problem is you obviously have to find a used one, but if she doesn't mind going to a gun show you can usually find a few there to look at.
That was what I was thinking. If I still had mine I would make you a nice deal.
