Without pictures and other information and based on the serial number (six digits) only, it can only be an M1D Garand Sniper rifle. M1Cs were seven digits starting at 33XXXXX. With the exception of a few prototypes during WWII, the majority of M1Ds were built in the 1950s and later.
With the DCM, CMP or supporting paperwork accompanying the rifle, NRA excellent condition, a "guestimate" value would be between $2500 to $3500. Of course a picture is worth a thousand words.
