On stage where I work I always tell my jr workers to use dikes or sidecutters as they are safe. Understand on the trail that carrying many tools are problematic. However the cable tie manifactures recomend sidecutters or like tools. Always cut away from your balls.




+1 sidepass. Several years back I buried a dull Swiss army knife blade into the base of my thumb about half a second quicker than my mind told me I was doing something the wrong way. Have not made that mistake again and bet he don't either. Seems an experienced guy used to cutting those things -with cold hands- ought to know a bit better and exercise better judgement. Use snips- amen.
