I never bought one because I heard they leak. Not sure how true that is though.
You need to let them set for awhile before putting one in your pocket. That lighter fluid will blister your leg.

And it kinda goes along with your other question. I get less leakage and less evaporation with higher end fluids. So I this k it makes a difference.
Also, not all zippos are created equal. The cheaper ones tend to fit loser in the case. Might add to evapration.
Dunking in water? No clue how that would effect one.
