Sixty yards or less, and me or the nilgai got a serious problem
We (that is, Roger, with me acting as gopher) can definitely get you onto a nilgai at 60 or so. We (that is, Roger guiding and both of us shooting) have killed nilgai at about 60 yards, and it's reliable. They come out of the salt at the same place every time.
The flintlock do politely put large holes in things. A nilgai with a flinter probably hasn't been done in a hundred years or more
