Reminds me of my high-tech sister "speech texting" wherein you pick up your phone and instead of writing a text to someone ( ridiculous enough�) you speak into the phone ( imagine that!) and it texts for you�

You're only thinking of the sender. The sendee is thankful for the text because they may be in a position that doesn't allow their having a conversation, but may still need the information.

That's the best feature of text messaging and e-mail. It relays info without having to interrupt whatever it is that a person is doing at the time.
