That was my thoughts too, but your '95 .30/03 rifle is marked ".30 US MOD 1903.", not "Govt".
Winchester labeled their ammo a bit different too. That bottom box kaywoodie posted is ".30-220 Caliber". That's alot of powder behind a .30 bullet! crazy


You are of course correct and I am... getting old. I guess all we can safely conclude is that the .30/40 and the .30/03 and .30/06's are not marked identically. And I agree, a .30 caliber loaded with 220 grains of powder - must be using a very light bullet? wink
