You "looked" at the 405 recoil? Or felt it? I shoot my .405 often, and can assure you that the recoil is not bad, and I'm not a sadist for recoil either! Also, I have a .35WCF 1895 and brass is tough to find for it, although it's easily formed from .30-40 brass.
