Given what you wrote about the coolant, you may have a leak at one of the firewall connections or even at a connecting joint within the heater box. Could be the heater core itself leaking. If you don't need a heater and don't wish to fool with diagnosis/repair you MIGHT be able to install a coolant flow shut-off valve in the delivery hose.
