yeah they are. I ran across an elderly Griswold chicken fryer with lid the other day at a local antique shop. Must have been gold though, instead of cast iron, as they were asking a firm $175.00 for it.
Those that have tried this, thanks for the feedback. It's pretty easy, and once again, best eaten warm.
