Jim Beam Single Barrel is a touch better than Evan Williams BiB.

Evan Williams and its not even close. No reason at all to drink standard Jim Beam.

The EB was better than the EW, but both are just mixers, not sippers. Jim Beam and Makers Mark are both mixers too. IMO, you have to step up a little for good sippers. Wild Turkey too, just a mixer.

I picked up some Bulleit. That is a much better bourbon for only a little more (<$30). It compares well with it's daddy, Four Roses, but is obviously much younger.

What's a mixer?

I was hoping this thread was about Jim and Evan being in the front running for Speaker.

Lord I have loved some ladies
And I have loved Jim Beam
And they both tried to kill me in 1973

Evan Williams single barrel will go toe to toe with many of the much more expensive bourbons

Without a doubt. Used to find it a lot around here. Haven’t seen it in a year. If I do I’ll buy a case.

Isn’t JB owned by some pedophile Chinese alien company. Seems like I recobember something like that. Anyway, from my serious liquor drinking days and my now thankfully severely moderated days, Jim always broke trail when dark thirty brought the deer slayers back to camp. Glug glug glug glug, Coke chaser. But for the now more civilized pastime I’d say EW takes the lead. Black Label over Jim. Single Barrel and Small batch neck n neck over BL, Bonded a nose ahead of all.

But I’ve been trying Rye of late as well and there are some reasonably priced versions. Just picked up some Wild Turkey Rye for $26 a bottle. It’s about even with EW Bonded but i like the distinctive rye flavor over any EW or JB.

For the same price you can get much better than beam or williams. I am pretty happy with the costco brand of bourbons, especially the bottled in bond stuff.

No can do at Costco's in Texas. Beam Black works for me.

Same here, esp with Wood-mart selling the Daddy pants size version for under $35 tax included.
