Gents,

Have a synthetic stock that's an "extra" for a Winchester I'm rehabbing. While I work on the wood stock, I'm going to paint the synthetic just for fun. Bring forth some inspiration!

None of those look like a rattle can pattern. Am I missing something?
[EDIT] Not saying they aren't great, but the OP asked for rattle can patterns. Maybe that's not what he really meant? The sponge patterns look great.

Nothing beats GAP camo IMO. Some painters tape and a razor blade and Krylon rattle can camo in black, OD, and tan. Spray the whole thing OD, then cut some camo shapes for the black and tan and go to town.

Applied with a rattle can isn't rattle can camo?

Hmm, ok.

Grab some sticks and leaves and stuff then and let your Hobby Lobby light shine bright......

Sponges and leaves and stuff all count as long as the paint came out of a rattle can. (I use torn up sea sponge for pattern and texture.)

I'm lazy. This took about 15 minutes. Sprayed tan, then black web, then a couple coats of satin clear coat.

Would prefer a real camo but this is better than the beat up original.

Before rifle stocks we used to do our guitar bodies with this hydro dip method with Krylon spray paint

Some years back I was asked to do a YouTube vid with a rifle stock, so here ya go !

Following.....have one that needs paint as well and I am too cheap to have a pro do it.

Do you guys apply a clear coat over the paint or just rock paint for easy touch ups?

I fail to see why rifle stocks need much if any camo as long as they are matte. And TV hunters? in blinds with face camo?? WTF

Dead flat clear works well with camo. I like to clear coat every stock I paint, because the clear really helps to protect the finish from getting all scratched up. YMMV..
