If you ever figure it out, sweetie, don't let anybody know.
True, because then someone would probably try to replicate it and it would never be the same..

I have not had a sense of smell for forty years now but I can still remember two wonderful scents to this day. The first was when I was four and my dad took me with him on a hunt and the smell of the paper Rem Umc shotgun shells was wonderful. The other was when I was a sophmore in high school and went to my first dance and finally got the nerve to ask a girl to dance and it turned out to be a slow one. She smelled even better than the burned gun powder.

An orange grove in bloom in the dead of night is intoxicating.

Night blooming jasmine outside the window.

The ocean on a nighttime onshore breeze.

A woman on a first date.

Hard to beat!

One for me happened about seven miles above the area where we parked to walk in to Cotton Lake, just at timberline in the Sangre de Christo range in southern Colorado. My two pards had outwalked me but just about a half mile from the lake, the unmistakable odor of perking coffee caused me to come to a sudden stop. I could see a little smoke rising from some trees a short distance away when all of a sudden somebody says "hey, you want a cup of coffee?" A couple of guys had camped there and were just now brewing that first pot of the day. "You betcha, says I." Best cup of coffee I have ever had but the best part was that being as my fishing partners were in such a hurry to get to the lake, they got no coffee. grin

And so it goes with all the other sketches always the same answer "Sex."

Oh yeah the good smells.......fresh cut wood, hay, etc don't compare to.....

1. The smell of my children. My sweet little girl and the Lavender smell of her beautiful hair. Or the woodsy/sweaty/grass stained muddy (wet dog) smell of my boys playing hard building forts and playing catch.

2. The smell of my Moms' perfume after she has left the room is a smell I know I will miss in the years to come. Same goes with dads aftershave and cigarettes.

Yeah I love the smell of coffee, bacon and fresh rain but nothing will take the place of having loved ones close and safe and the feeling that comes along with the comfort afforded by those associations.

I've always wished that coffee tasted as good as it smells.

Same with Rum and Maple and a few other pipe tobaccos.
