In my opinion the true test of a +++ hunter better than average is being able to take a mature buck consistantly year after year on public land and "managing" the does.....not slaughtering them for self gratis. It obviously isn't the above OP "hunter"...........if that's what you call him.  i agree 100% killing a mature buck period on public land in the south is very hard to do it requires skill and discipline btw i have never said I was a great hunter I am just in the woods all the time and have a good ability to kill deer with various loads (rifle and ml) and various weapons hell this thread was before i killed a 180 inch deer which was dumb luck that it came in when it did the deer was not baited however i am 100% for baiting where legal

why cause i got off my ass and took a kid hunting to enjoy the sport that i love i bet money u have never taken a kid hunting other than your own or grand kids i have taken 2 and it made their day along with mine
