Nice Fox Ben.
I kinda miss the opaque pix though. grin

Those suckers are all tail.
I've never skinned one but from the looks of the few Reds I've seen, it would appear that it takes longer to strip the tail than to skin the carcass.

Looks like you guys are keeping the varmint population under control. Meanwhile, Im living over here on the Rez where I can't kill coyotes and I live in some primo coyote land about half a mile from Kicking Horse Reservior. Christmas vacation starts the 24th for us and we are headed to Choteau...I am having withdrawls not getting to kill coyotes. Im homesick and looking forward to getting back home. Keep the pictures comin guys!

Last Friday my father and I went crow hunting and were able to bag three. It was the first time we have been able to kill a crow while purposely hunting them. I had a very good feeling after arriving at the field and seeing a few hundred crows in the field. Unfortunately we only had a box of shells between us and decided to go home to pick up more. When we returned most of the crows had pull a disappearing act. Only saw about 30 or so crows after arriving. Any how it was fun.

Thanks guys .. I'm going to have to attempt to re-attach his tail.. cry Real bummer whenever that happens. And it turned out really nice to boot, other than the tail. frown

But I did call in a double of coyotes this morning, and got one. smile I believe my coyote calling slump is waning. I only was calling for maybe 10 minutes, tops. I hit the serenade on my Foxpro as soon as I got all set up(I did have hand calls with me, if that makes it better) and instantly had two howling at me. I switched over to challenge howls, and down the hill they came, on the run. They stopped about halfway down, at maybe 450 yds, and then I turned on the ki-yi. They kicked it in another gear when the heard that! But as soon as they got to the bottom of the coulee, they started up my hill, and I figured they'd smell me for sure. Sure enough, I heard one start doing that dreaded "Yer busted!" bark.. I was pretty bummed then, but could see patches of the coyote once or twice through the cedars and junipers, and hoped it would head back down to the bottom. It did, and when it stepped out into the clear at about 200, it stopped and was standing there barking, but I silenced her right away.. Shot her once through the lungs, and had to do one more in the neck to finish her off. Fur damage was next to none, which is good, because it's a really nice coyote...

Dam!!!!!! That thing's huge!
You might want to call around to the local agencies and see if anyone's missing a police dog.
Hope Ingwe don't see this.

Oh,,, and thanks for fixing the pic. Much better. grin

No kidding! You could have called that dog in by just yelling German Names like "Kaiser!" " Bismark" or "Kilo".... grin

You might have to give me calling lessons Ben, sounds like you know a lot more about it than me....

Congrats to you and Nasharino.

Those are both nice dogs.

Unloaded the Benelli on a red fox last Saturday while I was bird hunting. He must have been further than I realized because he never missed a beat.

Travis

PS- Reds are faster than labs. But at least he tried.
