This happened back in 2012.... If I remember right the fella that was mauled didn't have a gun he was along for the ride taking pictures. They chased this bear down on sleds let me rephrase that the tracked the the best down with the use of sleds. They got couple within couple 100yds from it ol boy was going to snap pictures while his buddy shot the bear or something like that anyhow the bear got tired of the [bleep] [bleep] games and decided to knaw on this guy's head.. The story is out on the internet somewhere..
