uncle joe - not sure what velocity these will do in an Encore; I'm shooting a "new to me" X-frame. I worked up a little load today for milder blasting with 300gr cast bullets, using 13gr of SR7625 and a standard large rifle primer in 460 S&W brass. It does 1070 fps avg in my 6.5" barrel, and very consistent. Probably faster in yours.

That load is still in magnum pistol territory at about 700 ft-lb, but is pretty mild for the 460 and blast isn't bad.

I also fired a few rounds of 300gr cast & gas checked over 37gr H110; I didn't get a velocity reading even 10 yards back from the chronograph, it's too scared I guess. This is a full power load, but not max in my gun, factory Hornady, Win, and Federal loads are all hotter.

I started a thread about the 460 in the handgun forum, didn't see yours. Maybe some info will cross over. Here: https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...y_of_you_shoot_460_S&W?#Post11338421
