We've got a little flock of really young birds hanging around the silage pile. The roosters are just now barely showing a little color.

We also had golf ball size hail back in June...




You could be right. I always figured the long tailed birds were holdovers from last year. Which would mean bad survival rates this past winter.

But that was just my guess. They may grow faster than that and a bird with a month or two lead time could really be that much bigger.

Went out and collected another 3 around great falls today. Young birds there too. So it seems like a state wide thing.
