I always load for elk with my 300H&H but I have used it on deer and antelope too when I got the chance. I use 200 Gr Nosler Partitions and a load of H4831. The partitions expand of the chest of an antelope, but don't blow up on the shoulder of a bull elk.

My rifle shoots 69.3 Gr with a Fed 215 primer into 3/4" to 7/8" at 100. It does all I could ask of it. My friend Don has an old Remington 721 in the 300H&H and his gun shoots well too, but used a bit more powder. I think he said it was about 71, but i am not sure.

Never load to what someone tells you for powder weight. Always work it up yourself in your own rifle.
