Simply BECAUSE it's a semi-auto... They're designed for very specific pressures and shell dimensions.. ANY variance in those will result in performance issues and/or damage to the firearm..

Reload for bolt-actions, lever-actions, single-shots and the like; no problems... I advise NOT to reload for semi-autos.. Yer just asking for troubles...
