It's probable that the Brit security services & LE where seeking to track down all possible accomplices/associates and see if the dirt bag had help or was part of a network/larger operation before his name was released.
The Brits won't have any issues dealing with the terrorists when they can fix the target; I'm sure that the gentlemen from Hereford will take care of it.
