I'm not Sam, but I wouldn't have finger grooves on a knife, especially not a high end knife. They either fit your hand or they don't, so you're taking a chance. But even if they do happen to fit your hand perfectly in one grip, you are stuck with that one grip with the knife oriented in exactly that way in your hand. A neutral grip design is far more versatile in terms of how you can hold and orient the knife. It will also preserve resale value better, i.e., to a wider market of potential buyers.
