My first thought when seeing this thread was 7x57. It just seems fitting. I have my eye on a cute little 7x57 sporterized mauser 98 in a synthetic stock that looks like new. They (LGS) are wanting $299 for it.... That's the way I'd roll if it were me looking for a rifle for my wife... or even myself, now that I think about it...
