All is great in the SEC these days! Bama and UGA at the top of their divisions and national polls! UT right where they deserve to be, at the bottom and trying to figure out how in the hell they're gonna get past Vandy! grin



How does that jibe with the SEC being so tough top to bottom?


The answer is that they're not, at least not as much as they were a few years ago. Once upon a time Alabama, LSU and Georgia could beat anybody and Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Mississippi State were not far behind. Now LSU is recovering, and the other three have dropped a notch or two. Still a strong conference, but not at the dizzying heights it once was.

Even at the conference's peak Vanderbilt was low on the totem pole and Tennessee hasn't been a national threat for a decade.
