Owen got this nice mulie buck this morning. He and his dad scouted hard yesterday for Owen's opener and found where they were transitioning from the Smith Valley ranches up into the Pine Nut Mountains to bed down during the day. That's the secret of hunting this area.

He knocked it DRT at 175 yards with a 150gr Nosler Partition over 52gr IMR 4350 from his great older Husqvarna FN 98 270 Win with a 3-9X40 Leupold VXII. It's the same rifle his dad used in late August for his first ever antelope. I installed a Timney FW trigger that I had recently acquired from John Barsness, which helped make this rifle an honest "one-holer".
