I just finished a Flaig’s Custom in 30-06. The gun has all the modifications done to it. A timey trigger set, Leopold scope one piece base and 3 x 9 VX3 and scope safety. Pillar mount and Acuglass bedding. The stock is a 3/4 burl with a framed Monti Carlo style stock with arrow checkering. I put a on Pachmayr decelerator but pad from a trap gun because the stock was cut short for a youth. I quit counting the cost long ago. I would say follow your hart. You'll have a nice gun when you’re finished. Almost all gunsmiths were trained on Mauser sporters. You will have no problem investing in your project.
