It is mostly a personal thing I realize but there is an element of practicality — safety — in going with at least one other guy, aside from the sharing of expenses, and the experience. Maybe you don’t have a buddy who is interested, or who can go, but to do some of the things KC outlines (and his is a very good primer!) you always put yourself at some risk for a twisted ankle or worse, getting lost in some snarly spots. Or just getting illl. Just something to consider.
